The Christmas holidays are approaching, the endearing dates when we reunite with family, friends, colleagues and neighbours, to share moments and experiences full of joy, love and peace. The excitement, the gifts, the meals with loved ones are here and on the Costa Brava we celebrate it with various events and activities in order to experience the best Christmas ever!
We leave you 5 Christmas proposals for all tastes and ages.
The large Christmas playground in Platja d'Aro
Every year at Christmas time, Platja d'Aro offers the Children's Park in the Palau d'Eports i Congressos in the afternoons. You can find inflatables, workshops, games, animation shows.
You can go there as a family and enjoy with the little ones moments they will always remember.
Shepherds, peasants, laundresses, blacksmiths, the Magi, the pages, the angel, Joseph, the Virgin Mary, Jesus and ... the caganer! The living mangers are live representations of the biblical episode corresponding to the birth of Jesus of Nazareth.
In the Empordà the tradition of living nativity scenes is still very much alive and we encourage you to visit one of them:
- In Calonge, the performance takes place on a route around the Castle.
- In Castell d'Aro, represented since 1959, it takes place between the medieval center of Castell d'Aro and the natural area of the Vall de la Coma.
- In Pals they take place in the Gothic Quarter of the municipality.
Ice rink in Palafrugell
Christmas in the municipality of Palafrugell cannot be imagined without the Ice Rink. A traditional activity held in the Bòbila grounds.
Along with the ice rink, a whole range of completely free activities are organized for children, young people and the family in general, bar service, creperie, churreria, sweets and various children's attractions apart from the rink.
The Christmas train in Palamós with Fecotur
At Christmas, boys and girls can get on the Carrilet de Fecotur, and take a trip through the most central streets of the town to see illuminated streets and shops decorated for Christmas! To get your carrilet ticket you just need to make a purchase at any of the shops associated with FECOTUR, the Palamós traders' federation.
Royal Camp in Calonge and Sant Antoni
In Calonge-Sant Antoni we have the great privilege of receiving their Majesties the Magi from the East on our beaches, where they arrive by sea.
Their royal pages previously set up their Royal Camp at the top of the Collet site to see them arrive. We are all invited to carry their Majesties' letters.
