IMAGINE waking up just a few meters from the sea, having breakfast on a sunny terrace, and starting the day with an outdoor adventure. This is what the Baix Empordà offers you, one of the most authentic and natural corners of the Costa Brava. From our Apartments, located among quiet coves, coastal paths, and medieval villages, you have direct access to a wide variety of sports activities to enjoy the region at your own pace.
Whether you travel alone, as a couple, or with family, here are the sports you can practice during your stay.
WATER SPORTS FOR EVERY TASTE
The sea is the main star, and the best part is you don’t need to be an expert to enjoy it. Start with a gentle paddle surf or kayak session early in the morning, gliding over the calm waters of Torre Valentina or Sant Antoni.
If you want to go further, try snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters of the coves or Castell Beach, or join a diving trip at the Marina Port of Palamós or the Medes Islands, a natural reserve full of marine life.
There are also schools just a few kilometers away where you can learn sailing, windsurfing, or kitesurfing, especially in areas such as Pals Beach or the Gola de Ter, where wind and conditions are ideal.
PEDAL THROUGH VINEYARDS AND CHARMING VILLAGES
The area is mostly flat but also has more demanding routes, so there are options for all levels. There are greenways perfect for families or relaxed rides, such as the Petit Train Route, which connects Palafrugell with Palamós, or even reaching Girona via Platja d’Aro and Sant Feliu de Guíxols.
If you prefer MTB, you’ll find trails crossing forests, fields, and villages like Fontclara, Peratallada, or Palau-Sator.
Many accommodations, including our apartments, provide secure bicycle storage.
DISCOVER THE COASTAL PATHS AND NATURE
The coastal paths (“camins de ronda”) are one of the treasures of the Empordà coastline. Once ancient watchmen’s paths, today they are hiking trails with breathtaking sea views. You can take short walks or longer stretches, such as the one connecting Torre Valentina to Platja d’Aro. You can also walk from Torre Valentina to Cap Roig, passing through Castell Beach, the last untouched beach on the Costa Brava, where you can also visit the Iberian Settlement of Castell, dating back to the 6th century BC.
Inland routes such as those of Les Gavarres or the Fitor and Santa Llúcia d’Arboç area lead you into Mediterranean woodland landscapes, cereal fields, and old farmhouses, where the silence is broken only by birdsong.
GOLF & PITCH&PUTT: RELAXATION, GREEN & PRECISION
If you’re looking for a calmer activity, just minutes from our Apartments you’ll find Golf d’Aro-Mas Nou, located in the Gavarres mountains with stunning views over the Costa Brava.
Surrounded by nature and perfectly integrated into the landscape, it offers a unique golfing experience. Very close by you’ll also find two prestigious courses: Golf de Pals, with Mediterranean charm, century-old pine trees, and sea views, and Empordà Golf Club, with two different courses challenging players of all levels.
And if you prefer a shorter experience or want to try this sport, the pitch & putt courses of the Baix Empordà are the perfect option to combine fun, precision, and nature.
No excuses – come and play sports in the Baix Empordà!
