Greenways a form of sustainable tourism

Enjoying nature on the Vies Verdes is one of the proposals that we like the most, for different reasons: it allows you to discover new impressive natural places, it is a form of sustainable tourism, it enhances sport and most importantly; it is suitable for any age and condition.

Until now, when you came to our house, you could only take the greenway from Calonge-Sant Antoni to Palafrugell. And now we are very excited to tell you that a new stretch of 3.3 kilometers has been inaugurated with beautiful landscapes of our beloved territory that connects Calonge-Sant Antoni, in a southerly direction, reaching Castell-Platja d' ring

The greenways are the result of converting old railway lines that no longer have train service into ecotourism itineraries. They began to be developed in 1993 throughout the national territory and have now become magnificent itineraries for all people who love nature.

The well-known 🚂Tren Petit route has a route of 5 km with part of the old narrow-gauge train (called Tren Petit), and allows you to get from Calonge-Sant Antoni to Palafrugell.

On this pleasant path you can discover, among others, the natural site of Castell-Cap Roig and stop at small coves with crystal clear waters.

The Ruta del Carrilet is a route with a total of 57 kilometers that goes from Olot to Sant Feliu de Guíxols, crossing three counties and twelve towns, crossing the valleys of the rivers Fluvià, Brugent and Ter. With the creation of this new section between Calonge-Sant Antoni and Castell-Platja d'Aro, the classic greenways are joined: the Carrilet route and the Tren Petit route!

And now prepare your bike, sports shoes, scooters or whatever you prefer😉 to experience new adventures!
