Escapes to Nature🌿

With 214 km of coastline 🏖 and with 30% of its surface protected by its natural interest🏞, the Costa Brava offers us multiple possibilities for getaways to enjoy nature.

A unique and singular space, La Gola de Ter

It is one of the most suggestive landscapes of the Costa Brava, where the sea water meets that of the Ter River. The beach, of enormous ecological interest, is known as Platja de Fonollera and is located in the municipality of Torroella de Montgrí.

A long beach, with fine sand and a golden color that, with the nearby presence of the Medes Islands, makes it majestic. It is also one of the areas rich in dunes and reeds. As a curiosity, it is an ideal space where you can observe the sunset 🌅 and the rise of the moon over the sea🎑.

Between the walls of the Castle of Mongrí

Have you ever noticed the shape of the massif of Montgrí, which looks like a reclining bishop with a ring on his fingers; 💍 the ring is the castle, which bears the same name. Montgrí Castle was built between 1924 and 1301, driven by King Jaume II to defend himself against the threats of the Counts of Empúries, but the works were not finished and this is how we can still see it today.

There are different routes to climb it with more or less difficulty. Once at the top, the view over the Empordà is magnificent.

A corner to disconnect, El Pantà de Solius

This small swamp is located in the neighborhood of Solius de Santa Cristina d'Aro. In the past it was used to retain the water used to irrigate the lands of Can Dalmau, a farmhouse in Santa Cristina d'Aro included in the inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia.

Nowadays it is an ideal place for a nice walk, as you will find a path that allows you to go around it. In addition to enjoying the swamp, you will also find 🌳 typical trees of the territory that will invite you to stop in the shade.

Puig d'Arques, views from Gavarres

If you feel like going up to a viewpoint, this is a good opportunity, as the views are worth it.

It is one of the mountains of the Gavarres massif, between the towns of Cruïlles, Romanyà de la Selva and Sant Sadurní de l'Heura and has a height of about 530 meters, from where you can enjoy fabulous views of the Gavarres and the Baix Empordà.

Although it does not stand out much from the rest of the peaks around it, it has a characteristic ridge; a weather station is installed.
