🍎Between apple trees
One of the best-known fruits in our region for its quality and taste is the "Girona apple" with designation of origin. If there is a geographic area very close to our apartments, where you can enjoy the spectacle of apple trees in bloom or filled with apples, it is Torroella de Montgrí, direction Parlavà. There you will travel through landscapes full of this traditional Catalan crop. Come and take a walk, bike... it's a postcard picture!
🌾 Have you ever seen the rice plantations?
If nowadays the Empordà is known as a rice-growing area, it is thanks to the efforts of the Pals farmers who carry out rice production that respects the environment. Visit the rice fields and the old rice mill of the locality; the Molí de Pals, is to know first-hand the whole cycle of cultivation of this cereal, from sowing to harvest. You will see fields where they are cultivated, you can visit the old mill and observe the machinery and procedures that make rice whitening possible.
🐑 Traditional farms
We propose experiences to learn about life in a farmhouse; the Mas Casas. In a small inland town, Cruïlles, where everything revolves around a small flock of sheep. You can get to know the spaces and animals of the farm or share special days with them; such as shearing, participating in field tasks such as picking almonds and olives or attending workshops on well-being and healthy eating.
🎣 Get closer to the fishing tradition of Palamós
One of the privileges you can enjoy in our Bay due to its proximity to the fishing port of Palamós, is to get closer to the fishing tradition. The beginning goes back to 1277, when the territory of Palamós was bought by King Pere II. In 1279 the king himself granted a settlement letter to all those who wished to live in what was called "Palamors". This time we suggest you contemplate the departure of all the fishing boats, fully lined up, heading inland. Of course, you will have to get up early! Departure time is at 7 am. You will experience a magnificent show! and you will always remember this unique and special smell and feeling!!
